
PREMJI EBENEZER

INDIAN ARTIST
Premji Ebenezer is twenty eight years old and is originally from Madurai, south India. He is a graduate of American college, Madurai and Southern Asia Bible college in Bangalore. He began his career in music as a child artist. He made three minor Christian records for children before the age of thirteen. At the age of twelve he wrote his first song inspired by a newspaper commercial for Reynolds pen. Being a voracious reader helped him to later evolve into a songwriter.
After completing his secular degree in 2001 he founded a band called "Godfollower." The band rose steadily from 2001 to 2004 during which they performed in many concerts across India. They were invited to play by "Parra" one of the premier Christian rock bands in the south Asian region which has close ties with the American band "Petra." The band worked with Jesus Calls ministries, founded by India's famous evangelist the late Dr. D.G.S. Dinakaran. Premji lead worship for their youth meetings. In 2002 They had a special concert at Karunya Institue of technology where they collaborated with music prodigy and sensation Stephen Devassy.
In 2004 the band had to take a break as Premji enrolled himself in the Master of Divinity program at Southern Asia Bible college. In the summer break of of 2005 he released his first major album of original songs called "Soul survivor". It was produced by Stephen Devassy and released by Sitara music. Premji was the first Christian artist from India to be marketed by the label. A promotional event for the album was organized by New India Church of God in Pune by pastor Thomas Lincoln and also at New Life Assemblies of God church in Chennai where Pastor David Mohan the superintendent of Assemblies of God in south Asia dedicated it.
He considers being commended by Matt Redman for his songwriting as one of his biggest moments. He met Matt and many other artist like Israel Houghton, Darlene Zschech and Joel Houston at the Hillsong Europe conference. More recently he had the privilege of working with Gene Rumley and "Mission for Orphans." One of his songs called "feel the pain" has been featured in a documentary made by Gene Rumley for the cause of street children and orphans. The documentary also features songs by Jason Upton and Rivertribe. Premji is a full time minister today and travels as an evangelist. He is passionate about preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ .Music of course is his other passion. He is currently working on his second studio album of original music.
